Bible Verse #16: IS ANYTHING TOO HARD FOR THE LORD? - Bible Verses About Hope in Hard Times

“Then the Lord said to Abraham, “Why did Sarah laugh and say, ‘Will I really have a child, now that I am old?’ Is anything too hard for the Lord? I will return to you at the appointed time next year, and Sarah will have a son.” Genesis 18:13-14

We all pass through challenges at some point in our lives as Christians. When we face challenges we also tend to ask lots of questions in our hearts. Some of the questions originate from doubt and unbelief.

We have measured things in the natural for far too long. We have also observed events for far too long. From all this, we have, in our wisdom, determined what is possible or impossible, what can be done and what cannot be done.

We have relied on science so much, to the extent that we have concluded that whatever is not scientifically possible can never be possible by any other means.

You say, “Jesus rose from the dead.” Science says it’s impossible; He had not really died.

You say, “Jesus ascended to Heaven.” Science says it’s impossible because that would defy the law of gravity.

It is time the Christian embraces a new paradigm! This paradigm is expressed in the form of a question: “Is anything too hard for the Lord?”

A scientist would probably have laughed at the probability of a 90-year-old woman giving birth. Even Sarah herself laughed when she received the prophecy.

But Sarah gave birth as promised, didn’t she? So, was this too hard for the Lord? Let me turn the rhetorical question into a statement: Nothing is too hard for the Lord.

It would really bring lots of sunshine into one’s life if one were to embrace this paradigm.

A Christian who believes that nothing is too hard for the Lord leads a totally different prayer life to one who does not believe so. No Christian perseveres in prayer without this mindset.

Christians who quit do so only because they don’t appreciate the real extent of God’s capabilities.

You should always face challenges with the mindset that nothing is too hard for the Lord. It would make a whole lot of difference to your walk with Him!
